Reluctant Christian Ambassador: Overwhelmed (19)
Letter from The King
(Note: to start from the beginning of the story, go here.)
Dear Precious One,
Your last letter sounded like you continue to be overwhelmed with all the choices that are before you. It is understandable. Yet, you must be confident that there is always an answer. There is always a way for everything to work together to bring out the best in you, your family, and your situation.
There is a requirement on your part if you want to ensure that goodness is brought out of that which is meant to destroy you. You ask what the requirement is? That requirement is simply: Walk in My ways.
Child, I can only provide protection when you walk in My ways. I can only wring success out of perceived failures when you trust Me with your whole heart. I can only ensure you victory when you are gathering with My People, reading and studying My letters, and walking and talking with My Advisor moment by moment. Then, and only then, will you be successful in your mission to show people that I love them and that I care for them.
You ended your last letter by saying, “I wonder how we get back to the way that You want us to…be?” You have uncovered a powerful nugget of truth. I, as your father am most concerned about your “being”; about who you are on the inside. When your “being” is in line with My principles, then you will walk in joy. When you can “be” Me to your friends and neighbors and co-workers, then they will see My character and be more open and receptive to hearing My Words that I have sent them. To be most effective in your mission, Daughter, you must ensure that your heart is always clean and pure before Me.
I am extremely confident that you will learn and implement these truths. I have always found you to have a heart soft towards Me and a heart eager for the truth. You have always sought to implement what you learn…a hearer and a doer.
I have also sent a letter to My Advisor asking him to be extra diligent in working with you in these areas.
I look forward to hear what you are discovering. I delight in your letters and am pleased that you want to talk to Me, listen to My advice and learn My ways.
I love you and I care for you, My Precious One.
Your Father
Marketplace Minister’s Question: What are the “failures” in your life that you need to lay before God so that they can be transformed?
Marketplace Minister’s Lesson: When life seems chaotic and messy and when you feel like a failure, that’s the time to press into your relationship with God.
P.S. I’m interested in your comments on this journey. What details would you add? What questions are you asking yourself after reading? If you were in the character’s shoes, what questions would you be asking?

Reluctant Christian Ambassador: Transformed (18)
Letter from Daughter
(Note: to start from the beginning of the story, go here.)
Dear Father,
Sorry to disappoint you. As I read your letter and as I have talked (and listened!) with Your Advisor, I remember Your teaching, “Child, do NOT be conformed to the standards and thoughts of other lands.” Then, you went on to say that I was to be transformed into the likeness of You by always renewing my mind. That’s really where
it starts, doesn’t it, Father? It all starts in my mind and in my thoughts. How do I stay pure in this land? Messages counter to You scream from every street corner. No matter where one looks or goes, there is something or someone contrary to You. It is so insidious, that it even comes into our house through all the entertainment options that the world offers. How does one stay pure and yet have the credibility to share your message loudly and clearly?
It is very confusing, Father. When You step back and take a look at our situation from Your eyes, I don’t know how well we are doing? Then, I wonder how do we get back to the way that You want us to live and be.
I always appreciate your thoughts, Father.
Love,
Your Daughter
Marketplace Minister’s Question: How intentional are you at renewing your mind in order to be transformed?
Marketplace Minister’s Lesson:Renewing our minds is an intentional effort.
